As our organization continues to grow, we’re looking for a skilled and experienced Social Media & Community Manager to join our team.
Position Overview
As the Director of Major Gifts, you will play a pivotal role in driving the financial growth of Everything Policy and in turn, creating opportunities for personal and organizational growth. The ideal candidate will be a personable and ambitious self-starter who is willing to think outside the box in developing creative strategies to engage major donors. They must be extremely organized, quick on their feet and able to manage extensive donor databases. The successful candidate will be a motivated professional with strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as a proven track record of building, maintaining and fostering professional relationships that yield financial growth. Evidence of successful large-scale fundraising experience is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and implement a comprehensive major donor fundraising strategy that engages and strengthens both new and existing donors with the goal of increasing Major Donor revenue
- Identify, research, and engage potential major donors who align with PVP’s mission and values.
- Deliver high-quality presentations and proposals to prospective donors
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with major donors through regular verbal (phone calls, zoom) and written communication (emails) that emphasize the importance of sound policy
- Generate, track and maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records and interactions in the fundraising database (HubSpot).
- Report to Development Director daily and provide regular reports and updates on fundraising progress to the leadership team and executive steering committee
- Set KPIs to maintain high velocity, (i.e. engaging 100 donors/quarter)
- Engage and attract donors through multiple outlets including phone, email, LinkedIn, etc.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree a plus
- Experience in nonprofit sector, educational environments or campaigns
- Exceptional relationship-building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect authentically with donors on a regular basis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling donor communications via Zoom, phone calls, and emails
- Proven experience in large scale fundraising, including a strong track record of securing funding from individual donors and stakeholders
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute innovative fundraising strategies
- Capable of managing, tracking, and reporting on multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong organizational skills including the ability to efficiently manage donor databases
- Proficiency in fundraising software and/or data management with strong technical skills
- Passion for our organization’s work and a genuine enthusiasm for providing accessible, nonpartisan policy education to support sound policy
- Quick on their feet, willing to experiment and develop new systems and strategies to achieve organizational goals
